Please consider donating to the Brown County Humane Society’s Medical Fund
Funding for vet care and spay/neuter surgeries is our biggest need!
Every animal that comes into the care of Brown County Humane Society (BCHS) is treated like family… So far in 2019, nearly 950 homeless, lost, and abused animals were housed, cared for and adopted into loving homes by BCHS. With your support, we will be able to continue this mission. BCHS is a small, rural humane society that has always acted like the “big shelters” by offering services to the public which is only possible with donations from YOU! We opened a food pantry for people who need help feeding their pets, and provide spay/neuter vouchers to the public. Our animals are fully vetted and BCHS makes sure they receive everything needed to be happy and healthy. BCHS has managed the Brown County Dog Shelter under a contract with the county since 2010 and has maintained a 97% save rate. BCHS was one of the very first no-kill county shelters in Ohio. In 2016, the small animal shelter opened which houses primarily cats. Since opening, the small animal shelter has saved over 1,250 cats!
With your help BCHS has had amazing rescues over the years - from “Laik” the horse who was starved and stranded in a lake, to trapping and rehabilitating feral dogs that have gone on to become loving family members. BCHS cat “Rumpke” became something of a celebrity after he was found at the Rumpke landfill sick, abused and covered in motor oil. He recovered under BCHS care and is now in a loving home. The medical cases are COSTLY and hard on the budget but we feel EVERY animal is worth it.
In addition, when you donate to the BCHS medical fund you are not just saving one animal, you are saving countless lives by preventing unwanted litters. Every dog and cat adopted from our shelters is vaccinated, spayed or neutered and tested for disease. The solution to the over population of dogs and cats starts with spaying/neutering. It is something BCHS is passionate about. If you have read this far, chances are you are passionate about saving animals as well.
If you are considering a year-end donation for tax purposes, please consider donating to BCHS on Giving Tuesday, December 3. And… if you donate via our Facebook page “Brown County Humane Society Dog Shelter” on December 3, Facebook may match your donation!
