Fentanyl, Flakka (Alpha-PVP), and Tranq (Xylazine), are just three street drugs compounding the threat of the opioid crisis. As part of National Recovery Month, this forum will look at these illegal drugs, as well as what’s being done to prevent overdose deaths and improve recovery outcomes.

Join BrightView co-founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shawn Ryan as he leads a panel discussion with two leaders making progress fighting overdose deaths and promoting recovery with inventive solutions.

Tom Synan, Newtown Ohio’s Chief of Police:
Chief Synan leads the Hamilton County Heroin Coalition and created a plan that directs resources to treatment, preventive education, naloxone training for officers, and access to methadone.

Julie Raleigh, Madi’s House Co-Founder and CEO:
Julie created Madi’s House after spotting an unmet need in the recovery process. Madi’s House is a free, non-residential community center for young adults who are healing from mental illness or recovery.

Ohio’s overdose death rates slowed in 2022
A new way law enforcement is helping impact addiction and overdose deaths
