Description
The Clean Energy Manufacturing in Appalachia (CEMA) Program is a collaborative initiative spanning multiple states, aiding over 10,000 small- and medium-sized manufacturers in over 150 counties across Appalachian regions in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, Ohio, and West Virginia. 32 counties in Ohio are included in this program that allocates funds and resources for training, technical support, supply chain mapping, and advice on factory enhancements. The CEMA program assists manufacturers involved in renewable energy, hydrogen power, low-carbon and decarbonized power, smart grid advancements, electric vehicles, and sustainable building projects. It offers mini-grants to manufacturers up to $10,000 and can connect them to millions of dollars in available grants and tax incentives from federal, state and regional sources. MAGNET and TechSolve are the Ohio centers that will work with the state’s manufacturing companies to help them learn about the benefits of the CEMA program and how to take advantage of them. On July 11th, CEMA Program Team Members, Tom Reed and Matt Henderson, will speak about what sustainability means for a small or medium manufacturer and how the CEAM program can help them to identify a return on investment for sustainable projects.
