Description
Power a Clean Future Ohio invites local leaders to join an exclusive and timely conversation with your peers across the state on how local governments can lead on clean energy issues within a tight local budget.
SPEAKERS:
- Mayor John Cranley of Cincinnati, OH
- Mayor Jim Brainard of Carmel, IN
- Mayor Meghan George of Lakewood, OH
- Mr. Alex Fischer of the Columbus Partnership
- Carla Walker, Climate Advisor for the City of Cincinnati, will serve as our moderator
DETAILS:
We will discuss the economic development opportunities associated with growing Ohio’s clean and renewable energy sector and hear about real success stories from our panelists. We will also discuss resident and business engagement opportunities in this work. Finally, we discuss environmental justice and equity can and should be a key focus of this work as we reduce emissions, create healthier environments for Ohio residents, and boost our local economies.
In addition to this robust discussion, Power a Clean Future Ohio will launch several exciting tools for local leaders. During the event, we will release the Ohio Clean Energy and Sustainable Communities Toolkit, a comprehensive resource providing clean energy solutions and recommendations to Ohio’s municipalities. We will also launch our statewide peer-to-peer network for local elected leaders and staff to connect on clean energy issues in Ohio. You must register for first access to these resources.
This event is open to Ohio’s local elected leaders and staff: mayors, council members, city managers, administrators, and sustainability staff. Power a Clean Future Ohio Partners are also invited to attend.
